This work is a computer manipulation of a serigraph which I created three years ago. The serigraph was called Souvenirs de Voyage, because it was inspired by my trip to Greece and the Greek Isles. The iconography includes a statue of Aphrodite, a Griffin, and an Ionic column. However the strongest iconography represents the hero, Herakles. He is portrayed wearing the head of a lion, as is conventional. Having killed the Nemean lion, Herakles has made a cloak of his hide and a mask of the head.
After scanning in a photo of Souvenirs de Voyage, I enhanced it and altered it radically using Adobe Photoshop and Fractal Painter. I consider the computer image to have much greater impact than the original serigraph.
